Prism 1.0 beta: Testing a new program from Mozilla

Mozilla has released the beta version of Prism, which aims to contribute to the process of erasing the borders between Internet applications and software for the desktop. With the Prism, you can use popular Web services such as GMail, as normal applications for the desktop, without opening a browser. Prism is designed based on Firefox, so that works with all web technologies, which supports popular web browser. To make a web service in the application for the desktop, you need to make just a couple of mouse clicks.

“Unlike Adobe AIR and Microsoft Silverlight, we are not building a proprietary platform designed to replace the Internet,” – writes in a blog Mozilla Labs. Prism is available as a separate application, and as a plug-in for Firefox. Download trial version can be here .
